The New Year: 2008

Jason and I rang in the new year rather pathetically...we didn't even stay awake until midnight. Instead we counted down 10, 9, 8, 7...at 11:00 PM. We felt the midnight thing was just a technicality since it was officially the new year on the east coast. Today marks the first full week back at work for 2008, I'm still working as a contractor although I have applied for a new full-time/permanent Marketing Manager position in same the group I've been working in here at Lifetouch. I think I have a pretty good shot at the job, but nothing is ever a sure thing until it's a done deal.

I've started looking for a new vehicle, I really dislike car shopping. Somehow I can't get excited about having mongo car payments every month (it sort of goes against all my 2008 investment goals). At this point we are looking at new vehicles, I know it is wasteful but I've never had a new vehicle, Jason on the other hand has had 5... I KNOW, how unfair is that?!

I'm really struggling on what to buy, I thought I had narrowed it down to a crossover vehicle but they are rather expensive compared to a car. Obviously I need something with decent gas mileage since I commute 100 miles/day but it would be nice to have something a little bigger/taller for ease of getting Isabella in/out. I would like all-wheel drive and something that is a little safer on the road (not some beep, beep car).

In Isabella news our little 10-month old is getting into everything these days. She seems to be getting taller every day. It seems like just yesterday she had to stand on her tiptoes to peer onto the family room end table, now she can clearly see and reach all the things she cannot have.
